Hi, I'm Mel!
I’m the Founder & Owner of IYKYK Dating, and honestly… I still have moments where I’m like, “God, how do I get to do this for a living?!"
This all started at the end of COVID, in January 2021, in San Diego. A friend and I hosted a speed dating night in her living room because, honestly, we just wanted to find our husbands! Nothing fancy, nothing strategic… just a handful of people, a simple idea, and a hope that maybe there could be a better way for Christians to meet each other.
And then people kept asking for more events!
At first, we honestly just said yes to whatever came our way, one event at a time. But over time, I started getting curious… what if there were Christians all over the country wanting more in-person opportunities to date. So I posted a few TikToks asking if we should bring events to other cities around the US… and at the beginning of 2022, everything kind of exploded overnight.
Fast forward, and now I get to run IYKYK Dating with the most incredible team. What started in a living room has now grown into in-person speed dating events in over 25 cities every single month for Christian singles in their 20s and 30s (with more age ranges to come).
Honestly, the most beautiful part has been the fruit. Not just good conversations or fun events, but Godly relationships, friendships, marriages, and so many stories of encouragement and answered prayer. We also have a free Facebook community of 7,500+ single Christians across the U.S., and it’s been such a gift watching people find connections there too.
At the end of the day, this business isn’t mine- it’s God’s. I really do feel like I’m just stewarding something He chose to breathe on, and it’s truly such an honor that I don't take lightly. As for me, I live in Dallas, Texas, where I’m plugged into and serve at a local church. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me cooking, spending time with friends and family, discipling younger women, or getting in a good workout.
