How Speed Dating Works with Fanciful

We use Fanciful, an online, web-based matching platform (not an app), to make your speed dating experience seamless and fun. Here’s how it works:

Before the Event

• After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive a confirmation email from us with a link to set up or update your Fanciful profile.

  • New? Create your account and complete your profile (photo, name, age, short bio) here: https://fanciful.app/auth/create-account/email

  • Returning? Simply log in to https://fanciful.app/auth/sign-in and update your existing profile if you want to or keep it as is.

Important: You’ll receive your Fanciful event invitation 3 hours before the event from noreply@fanciful.app. You will only see the event under “My Events” after you accept the invitation. Until then, the event will not be visible in your Fanciful account.

How to Navigate Fanciful

During the Event

• Upon arrival, check in with our event host, who will guide you on where to go next.

• Sign in to Fanciful, go to "My Events" and select the event you’re attending.

• You’ll see a countdown before the official start time. Once the event begins, the guest list will appear. We recommend using the "Date Trackers" to jot down notes during your dates and making your selections after the final round.

• You’ll have 3–5 minute conversations with 7–15 people of the opposite gender in a fun, structured setting, with a one 5–10 minute break in the middle. Our friendly host will guide the evening, so all you need to do is show up and enjoy the experience! Feeling a little nervous about what to say? Seating Note: Men will be seated while women rotate, although this may vary depending on attendance- so we appreciate your flexibility. Based on the hundreds of events we’ve hosted, this seating format consistently creates the best flow for everyone.

After the Event

• Shortly before the event ends, you’ll get an email from noreply@fanciful.app with a link to your digital scorecard where you can mark your selections or directly access it from https://fanciful.app under "My Events".

  • Important Reminder: The number next to each guest’s photo in Fanciful does not correspond to the speed dating table number or order of interaction.

• You’ll have until 11:30 PM the same night to review and update your picks.

• At midnight, matches are finalized. You’ll receive an email to view your mutual matches.

• If there’s a mutual match, you can message each other directly within Fanciful's secure messaging platform.
