Single Spotlight is a series where we feature incredible Christian singles in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who genuinely love the Lord, are actively involved in their local church, and are pursuing a truly set-apart life.
We create videos sharing who they are, what they’re looking for, and what makes them unique, then post those videos across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube so hundreds of thousands of like-minded Christian singles across the country have the opportunity to meet them.
Our hope is simple: to help intentional Christians meet their future spouse.

If someone comes across a featured single they’re interested in getting to know, they can fill out an application to connect with them.

We Review Every Application
Every application is personally reviewed by Mel.
Applications are carefully evaluated based on compatibility, taking into consideration things like faith, values, life stage, personality, future goals, and the featured single’s preferences.
The goal is to identify people who appear to be genuinely compatible, not just on paper, but in the areas that matter most when pursuing a healthy, Christ-centered marriage.

Compatibility First. Attraction Second.
Once the strongest potential matches have been identified, Mel presents their profiles to the featured single.
The featured single then selects the people they’re attracted to.
Compatibility matters, but attraction matters too. After all, you’ve got to be attracted to your future spouse.

Selected Candidates Send a Short Introduction Video
If the featured single is interested in getting to know someone further, Mel reaches out via text and asks them to record a simple 60-second introduction video.
Nothing fancy or professionally produced, just a chance to introduce themselves, share a little about who they are, and tell the featured single anything they’d want them to know.
The videos help bring each person’s profile to life and give the featured single a better feel for their personality beyond photos and written answers.

The Featured Single Makes Their Final Selection
Once all of the introduction videos have been received, the featured single watches the videos and prayerfully decides who they’d like to pursue.
They’ll typically make their final selection within about a month of receiving all of the introduction videos. From there, they’re intentional about getting to know their pick and only pursue one person at a time.

Who can apply to be a Single Spotlight?
Single Spotlight is for Christian singles in the USA only (for now) in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who genuinely love the Lord, are actively involved in their church, and are pursuing a life that reflects their faith. Being a Christian isn’t simply a box to check. We’re looking for people whose faith is an important and active part of their everyday life.
Is there a cost to apply?
No, there is no cost to apply.
Does applying guarantee that someone will be considered?
No. Every application is reviewed, but applications are selected based on compatibility with the particular featured single. Not being selected doesn’t mean someone isn’t a great catch. It simply means they may not be the right fit for that particular person.
Can someone apply to more than one featured single?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it. If someone sees multiple featured singles they genuinely feel they could be a good match with, they’re welcome to apply to each of them. However, each featured single has their own preferences and selection process, so applying does not guarantee being considered.
What happens if someone is selected?
If a featured single is interested in getting to know someone further, Mel will reach out via text and request a 60-second introduction video. The video is then shared privately with the featured single as part of their decision-making process.
What should the introduction video include?
Nothing complicated! It’s simply an opportunity to introduce yourself, share a little about who you are, and mention anything you’d want the featured single to know. The goal isn’t to create a perfect or highly produced video. Authentic is better.
How long does the process take?
There’s no guaranteed timeline. Because featured singles intentionally get to know one person at a time, it might take a month or even longer before someone hears from us. Once all introduction videos have been received, the featured single will typically make their final selection within about a month.
Will applicants be notified if someone else is selected?
No. To protect everyone’s privacy, IYKYK Dating does not send notifications announcing when a featured single has chosen someone. That’s why we strongly encourage everyone to keep living their life and continue meeting people rather than waiting on a response.
What if someone is no longer single when Mel reaches out?
That’s great news! The whole point is to help people find a relationship, whether that happens through Single Spotlight or somewhere completely unexpected. If someone has met someone by the time Mel reaches out, there’s absolutely no pressure to continue with the process.
Does being featured guarantee that someone will find a match?
No. Being featured gives a single the opportunity to be seen by a large audience of like-minded Christian singles, but there are no guarantees when it comes to dating or relationships. The goal is to create more opportunities for meaningful connections, not to manufacture a relationship.
What makes Single Spotlight different from a dating app?
Single Spotlight isn’t designed to be another place where people endlessly swipe, match, and juggle conversations. The process is intentionally slower and more personal. Applications are reviewed by a real matchmaker, potential matches are selected based on compatibility, attraction is considered, and featured singles intentionally get to know one person at a time.
Is this only for people who live near the featured single?
Single Spotlight is currently available to people in the United States only. Featured singles can be seen by like-minded Christian singles across the country, so they don’t necessarily have to live in the same city or immediate area. Distance is one of the factors that can be considered when determining compatibility, but it isn’t automatically a dealbreaker.
What if someone doesn’t hear back?
Please don’t take it personally. Dating involves timing, preferences, attraction, compatibility, circumstances, and countless other factors that aren’t always visible from the outside. Not being selected for a particular Single Spotlight simply means that match wasn’t the right fit at that time. There are plenty of amazing people in the world, and the goal is never to convince two people to be together who aren’t the right fit.
